The vessel is the first one of 18,000-teu series, contracted in February 2011.

After the ceremony, the Okpo-based yard is to construct the boxship, 400m in length and 59m in breadth, for about a year and deliver it to the Danish owner by mid 2013.

2012年5月12日，韩国大宇造船与海洋工程公司为丹麦AP穆勒-马士基集团承建的世界最大的集装箱船举行开工仪式。

据悉，这艘18000teu集装箱船在大宇造船旗下的玉浦船厂建造，全船长400米，船宽59米，船高73米，预计将在2013年中期交付。

2011年2月21日，马士基宣布与韩国大宇造船海洋株式会社(DSME)签署合同，购买10艘3E（Triple-E）系列集装箱船。每艘船的价格约在1.9亿美元。同时马士基保留了再度签署另外20艘3E船舶订单的可能。
