General

that the shaft seal be made of perbunan or PTFE1). However, in the. ]# l# U3 `' W' }3 _6 t
case of perbunan, please note that the maximum operating( @" L/ x( W5 I
temperature is reduced to 90C
! }- \" N) q& E2 z* K& @• Moisture in the environment of the axial piston unit must be' }% Q, C6 D8 Z
prevented, because any moisture on the shaft seal can cause the
/ y2 H& s" ^; p8 h" t0 Xseal lip to freeze on the shaft while the machine is at standstill.
_6 y3 p/ j: j% f! F' A% H+ ^8 U* cThen, on starting, the possibility of seal destruction cannot be& W- M$ Z: H7 @3 l
eliminated./ p0 S$ F: [( M" y0 Q% m
• Viscosity must be maintained within the limits specified in the! T& U( O: l6 t/ T9 Q9 o7 [
technical data of the axial piston machine by selecting a suitable3 G, B: P, ]* p
hydraulic medium for the entire operating period, both in winter% o/ h+ }# L3 O
and in the hotter summer temperatures." a$ C3 V3 L. H& ]+ r3 }. V# e
The limiting values for viscosity are as follows:8 P6 W( E$ C3 z) ^3 L1 L) ^7 X4 k

Please note that the maximum temperature of 115C for the( j& T: r" _) V8 `0 m7 {
hydraulic medium (90C for perbunan) must never be exceeded,. Z4 X. A& C3 ?3 a& Q
even in specific locations, e.g. the bearing area.

• When installing new components, these components must first be

• Measures for filters, cylinders, gears etc. must be agreed with the

7 @1 K- h7 i7 `/ ?5 Q3 f• Warm up all components to at least -40C.( g2 \, A7 F; P
• Start the drive engine.
9 S# ~/ }. D: r+ [7 t5 m• Warm-up phase for open hydraulic systems
; b6 \; N8 P" A3 v( z% T3 E- The pump starts up with the diesel engine and must be operated
/ E6 s- i' C( }, I' L* qfor at least 10 minutes at the engine idling speed in order to+ C" z2 m# T5 b9 q, i
ensure self-lubrication.9 T, Y) @% G6 i1 d0 _
- The pump must be in low-pressure circulation mode s: u* t& g& ~# L- P8 c; j& ]; ?0 {' M
(max. 50 bar and max. 50% oil flow).
% Z. H: K" W4 F/ A' d+ x" K! S2 V: A- Generate a circulating pressure of approx. 50 bar at the pump by
% n+ S2 A0 @1 a! [. ia separate pressure make up valve. This operating condition must& b, v$ p. }0 ~2 A
be maintained until the system reaches a temperature of -25C.$ s7 V! u7 \* y( l% p: {
The speed of the diesel engine must not be increased during this/ M0 e" W. T+ X9 z# v
period.
/ M, t$ M8 p. V% P% A- Then slowly operate all system functions several times at low load
/ F1 ~/ h! O8 `8 k8 |& Rin order to warm up the entire system as uniformly as possible.( p7 a. |; _* L# o
During this period, the tank temperature must be monitored, since; F! c5 c# R- I
it will drop due to the cold hydraulic medium returning to the
; k9 Q9 p) i, I+ H4 Rtank.* ~7 X$ U) t7 w: o1 s: W5 R
• Warm-up phase for closed hydraulic systems$ R6 V. {. \8 Y7 b# p$ l, x; }
- Set the pumps to neutral position without oil flow.7 P8 J8 e6 q8 d& p9 t( X% o. I
- The pump starts up with the diesel engine and must be operated
- Y4 {5 f7 } c# H, Q5 gfor at least 10 minutes at engine idling speed.
' t, p6 x6 w4 d: s G- [2 v- Then slowly swivel the pump outwards. All system functions must' S1 w7 q9 B1 s
be operated slowly several times at low load until the entire system8 a* D5 t/ @; S
reaches a temperature of -25C.. k/ Q; _* g. A' x1 a) g6 ^
• Continuous flushing is necessary in all components in order to
) _6 G! x: a0 W: s) S5 Fprevent temperature shocks. The temperature difference between
. T6 ]/ m i3 x b6 a1 vthe hydraulic medium and individual components must not exceed
' o- u: n4 c/ Z20C.
' n- V5 Y7 Y1 F, g7 c• The hydrostatic motors must be flushed transversely via the flushing
3 L# A- @2 J2 E& P5 y/ z3 g(U) and leakage oil ports (T). During this process, the permissible& }# @+ O9 ?4 S: C0 r. Z l
housing pressures must be monitored. Flushing should remain active
0 Q3 C+ }, g' ]" aduring operation in order to ensure that motors operated only8 b+ v; B- M/ c' Q
occasionally are maintained at operating temperature. h4 F& B% z0 L
• Our axial piston units can be operated under full load as from a/ j1 J+ c. Q$ y5 |/ m3 {7 {! H
circuit temperature of -25C in the system. |
