Surlyn® 8920 thermoplastic resin is an advanced ethylene/methacrylic acid (E/MAA) copolymer, in which
/ i# ]7 \. c" ], L6 d2 ethe MAA acid groups have been partially neutralized with sodium ions. The amount of MAA and
. v4 i& D; q: s! M7 mneutralization levels for this grade result in excellent abrasion resistance, clarity, and stiffness. The resin
% O8 G, q' e$ ]can be injection or blow molded, and is processable by extrusion into sheets or shapes. It also can be used8 s0 X; e$ F1 o/ j( Z
as a nucleating agent for PET molding applications. The resin complies with the provisions of U.S. Food, V! Y2 M" r) S
and Drug Administration (FDA) Title 21 Code of Regulations 177:1330. Typical performance properties are7 S- ?# S, B1 P$ p4 |' z' g! F
