8.4 Classification
; U4 z4 H) N: z/ j$ ^7 VThe materials shall be classified HB, HB40 or HB75 (HB = horizontal burning) in accordance# F* z# d# Q; W- R1 j1 T e3 x
with the criteria given below.2 S9 u- [7 s* ~* q
8.4.1 A material classified HB shall conform to one of the following criteria:
8 c( S l0 T" n; M% La) it shall not visibly burn with a flame after the ignition source is removed;
, M% C7 m. X- M9 L7 Ib) if the test specimens continue to burn with a flame after removal of the ignition source, the
0 t: h, ~, c- nflame front shall not pass the 100 mm mark;' p7 n4 {# w0 t, [
c) if the flame front passes the 100 mm mark, it shall not have a linear burning rate exceeding% z/ P6 _5 N. ?0 H F2 u
40 mm/min for a thickness of 3,0 mm to 13,0 mm or a burning rate not exceeding8 E5 _# m8 A% d' r; O0 n
75 mm/min for a thickness of less than 3,0 mm;
- y9 @& p# n$ e5 o6 O: [d) if the linear burning rate does not exceed 40 mm/min for tests with 3,0 mm ± 0,2 mm g' g; G9 W; r! ?; u9 R3 L% R7 h
thickness, it shall automatically be accepted down to a 1,5 mm minimum thickness.
# Y* k7 z8 v" D* g* @3 ^- ^7 i2 q/ N8.4.2 A material classified HB40 shall present one of the following criteria:
