Drafting is fully compatible with the most used 2D formats, like DWG/DXF, IGES, e2, draftmaker, and can save DXF/DWG without any limitation up to AutoCAD format.DXF/DWG is easily loaded because Drafting shares with AutoCAD many concepts and processes like layers, text format, x-hatch, dimension style and text style. Moreover, AutoCAD blocks are displayed in Draftingas groups, letting the user to benefit from Drafting’s optimized group management.

Smart Objects and Adaptive Measures

Unique to Drafting, Smart Objects allow users to capture, reuse and share all of (or part of) a design. The benefits are greater consistency with company standards, less errors, and faster design cycles. Adaptive Measures introduce a breakthrough, intuitive approach to designing parts within the context of the assembly. When inserting or editing features, users can input values directly from the surrounding geometry with a simple mouse click. Adaptive Measures will adapt to model changes driving the features that incorporate them and preserving the design intent. This makes top-down part and assembly design faster and less error-prone than today's raditional, manual methods.
