On May 12, Daewoo held a steel-cutting ceremony at its Okpo yard for a world largest ultra-large 18,000-teu boxship, ordered by AP Møller-Maersk of Denmark.

The vessel is the first one of 18,000-teu series, contracted in February 2011. . f2 n. ~; Q( u: e* Q$ z' q

After the ceremony, the Okpo-based yard is to construct the boxship, 400m in length and 59m in breadth, for about a year and deliver it to the Danish owner by mid 2013. # M3 D, ?1 c3 R$ E' A/ K0 [
