Abstract
) Z8 ^2 C! t' t: a7 M) DElectrochemical tests were conducted to evaluate the inhibition effects of a commercial sodium nitrite (NaNO2)/sodium tolyltriazole (nitrite/TTA)-based corrosion inhibitor added to deionized water at 50°C. General and pitting corrosion of materials commonly used in closed cooling water systems were examined. Tests also were performed in deionized water which Cl- had been added. At the tested concentrations, nitrite/TTA was found to be an effective corrosion inhibitor for all of the materials tested in plain deionized water and Cl--containing water. |
