Laskaridis Shipping of Greece has cancelled a handysize bulker at the South Korean yard.

Commercial director Yiannis Lagarias confirms Laskaridis cancelled the 34,000-dwt Nireas in May, when the ship was due for delivery.

- B3 _+ K3 U/ }1 n' \! {Lagarias says the yard was behind schedule on the bulker, Hull No 1002, and 21st has since sold it on to other interests.

# {0 i6 y8 d% W) {0 G+ gLagarias says the price was negotiated down to $29m per ship once it was clear there would be delays.

In the end, Cebi Denizcilik ve Ticaret of Turkey bought the ship for a reported $26m, renaming it Minanur Cebi 1, for slightly more than Laskaridis’s offer. Delivery is now set for July.
